You might have noticed that some dance patterns (slapping the knees and more) quite certainly inspired some Russian/Balkan gipsy folk, Jewish dance as well.

From a cultural aspect, it means that Greeks, Jews, Roms interacted often in several areas : economics, trade, philosophical/religious discussions or inviting each other at some festivities in a friendly way (meals together, dancing, music playing, celebrating). Already in ancient times, "trading", economical exchanges went along with friendly moments, it wasn't cold diplomacy as today.
